General

PARKING

Haymarket: There is a paved lot with an entrance on Washington St. that our clients can use. The sign on Washington St. says 'Old Bank Building Parking'. Please do not park in the gravel lot behind our building. That lot is for employees only and is patrolled by a towing company so you could be towed if you park there.

The Plains: There are 5 marked spots in the lot behind The Front Porch Grill. You may also park in any spot that does not have a sign designating it to another business or location. In addition there is ample street parking on Main St. and Fauquier Ave.

PAYMENT

We take cash, debit or credit cards. Well established customers may pay by check. A 3% credit card fee will be automatically added during payment. To avoid that fee you may pay with a debit card or cash.

TIPPING

We do not have the ability to add tip to your payment. All of our stylists have Venmo, cash app or Apple Pay set up and we have their QR codes that you can scan to tip that way, or you may tip in cash.

CANCELLATIONS

Cancellation Policy: All reservations are held with a credit card or debit card. We ask that any cancellations are made 24 hours prior to appointments via phone call, or email—no texts. Cancellations 12-23 hours from your appointment time will be charged 50% of service. Cancellations less than 12 hours from your appointment time, and no-shows will be charged 100% of that service.

Hair Questions

HAIR CONSULTATIONS

We highly recommend a free hair consultation if you are new to the salon or if it's been awhile since you've been here and you are doing a big color service. Many things affect coloring your hair, and all hair lifts differently. If you have done box dye or henna on your hair, or you are concerned about cost, a consultation and a strand test will help you and your stylist know exactly what to book you for.

CHILDREN'S CUTS
We do not typically do children's (11 and under) cuts, or have children's pricing. However, we are happy to service our client's children by request.

CURLY CUTS
If you are coming in for a curly cut we ask that you come in with clean hair, no more than 2 days since washing, and in it's natural state—no ponytails, braids, or curling iron. This cut is done dry and follows your natural curl. It's okay to use your regular styling products.
EXTENSIONS
You must consult with your stylist for first-time extensions. Hair will need to be pre-purchased and is ordered specifically for you.
COST
When you book your appointment you will get an email confirmation with an estimate of the cost of your services. If you are on a budget, please let your stylist know so they can discuss options and prices with you beforehand. Let us know when you make your appointment as well and we will make a note in your appointment.
BRAZILIAN BLOWOUTS
Lasts about 3-4 months and reduces blow dry time by 50%. Will also reduce frizz. Appointments last about 3 hours.
KERATIN EXPRESS
Lasts about 6-8 weeks. Wait two days before getting wet, putting up or going to the gym.
KC TEXTURE CURL ENHANCING TREATMENT
Lasts 3 months and treatments are cumulative. It's a deep moisturizing treatment for curly hair using keratin and botanical ingredients. There are no chemicals involved. Your curls will be  moisturized and defined with reduced frizz.

Bridal Questions

TRAVEL FEES

We assess a travel fee because our stylists have to pack up all their gear and drive to your location, taking time away from their ability to service other clients in the salon.

TRIALS
Many brides like to book a trial appointment to test out their styling. This is booked as a regular formal styling appointment with the stylist who will be doing your hair on your wedding day.

Spa Questions

RETINOL USE

If you use retinol/retinoid products on your face or body please let your esthetician know. We recommend stopping use of these products at least 5 days prior to any waxing or appointments with exfoliation.

ACNE CREAM USAGE
Just like retinol use, we recommend stopping use of any acne creams at least 3 days prior to waxing appointments since they can cause irritation.
THINGS TO KNOW BEFORE GETTING A BRAZILIAN WAX
It's best to exfoliate the day before your appointment and to stop any use of retinoid body creams. Hair should be about the length of a grain of rice. Too short may make it hard to wax and too long may be more painful for you
THINGS TO KNOW BEFORE GETTING A FACIAL OR WAXING
Stop exfoliating 3 days prior to your appointment. See Retinol use above and filler below.
LASH LIFT
Do not get lashes wet or wear makeup for 24 hours after. Do not come in with any eye makeup on—we will clean the area but prefer you not have any makeup on when you come in.

Medi Spa Questions

MICROBLADING/SHADING/LIP TINTING

You should wait 4-6 weeks after getting filler in your lips before getting your lips blush tattooed. The tinting usually lasts 1-2 years

You should wait 3 weeks after getting Botox/Dysport before getting your brows microbladed or shaded

If you are prone to getting keloids you should not have your brows micro bladed but you may do powder brows (shading).

Using products like retinol can make your microblading fade faster. Generally speaking, touch-ups are needed every couple of years.

BOTOX/DYSPORT

Everyone is different, but generally neurotoxins last 3-4 months. Some bruising may occur after your treatment. You will start to see results 2-7 days post treatment with the full effect taking up to 2 weeks to be seen.

Avoid exercise or strenuous activity for 48 hours after your injection and avoid taking aspirin (unless medically necessary) and anti-inflammatory medications.

Do not apply pressure to, rub, or scratch the area for 24 hours.

FILLER

Do not use AHA, Retinols/Vitamin C therapy or oil based make-up for 24 hours. Avoid facials, facial waxing, Glycolic or AHA peels, IPL or energy based treatments and microdermabrasion for two weeks after treatment.
